About the Lexington Farmers' Market

The purpose of the Lexington Farmers' Market is to provide fresh, native produce directly from farmers to residents. We're working to help the local farming industry to remain vibrant, to educate our community about healthy eating, to maintain a sustainable environment, and to provide a social experience that helps build  community. The Lexington Farmers' Market is a place for business as well as a community meeting spot.

About the Volunteers of the Lexington Farmers' Market

There are over 50 volunteers at the Lexington Farmers' Market. Please continue to check this page...we want to introduce you to them all!
Sonia DeMarta

Sonia DeMarta, Market Manager

The Lexington Farmers' Market was founded in 2005 by Sonia DeMarta, Lori Deliso and Raul Marques. Sonia is a Lexington resident with a Masters degree in Environmental Management from Boston University with a special interest Food and Food Production. Inspired several years ago by an article in WorldWatch magazine titled “Where have all the Farmers Gone?”, Sonia decided to put her education and experience to work in bringing a farmers’ market to Lexington, after seeing a very successful one in Newton, where she and her family lived prior to moving to Lexington.

Lori Deliso

Lori Deliso, Market Manager

Lori Deliso is one of the co-founders of The Lexington Farmers’ Market. She and her husband David Jick are Lexington residents and are owners of Dave’s Fresh Pasta shop in Somerville Ma., where Lori has been teaching kids about the joys of cooking and eating for several years now! Lori oversees daily operations of the market, and co-chairs the Kids Cooking Green program with Liza Connolly.

Deb Jackson

Deb Jackson, Market Manager

Deb is one of the original organizers of the Market. For our first three years, Deb scheduled and coordinated all the weekly entertainment. She's also been behind the scenes in many different capacities since Day One. Deb is the Market Manager on Market Day for ten of twenty weeks this season. Stop by the Market Manager's tent and introduce yourself to Deb!

Liza Connolly, Vendor Liaison

Liza has been offering her knowledge of food and experience as a chef since the Market's opening in 2005. Liza provided original recipes for the Market, all featuring ingredients available at the LFM. After a successful pilot program to include the Farmers' Market into the "Dinner Party Project" at the Bridge School last fall, Liza and co-chair Lori Deliso have started "Kids Cooking Green" as an educational outreach program of the Lexington Farmers' Market. Along with Lori and Leslie Wilcott-Henrie, Liza also manages the Farmer and Vendor participation at the Lexington Farmers' Market.

Leslie Wilcott-Henrie, Vendor Liaison

You can usually find Leslie behind her camera at the Market...many of our photos, including this one of herself, were taken by Leslie! Leslie has offered many of her other talents to the Market too, such as writing and editing articles for the newspaper, adding more recipes and organizing tremendously successful "What's for Dinner?" Market Days each year. Leslie also helps manage the Farmer and Vendor participation at the Market.
