Kids Cooking Green was started in 2006 by LFM co-founder Lori Deliso and LFM board member Liza Connolly as an educational outreach program for elementary school children. Since then, KCG has expanded to many area communities, working with kids of all ages. KCG provides classes and activities introducing children to the importance of eating locally grown food. Through hands-on cooking and lively classroom presentations, students learn about nutrition and the positive impact eating locally can have on the environment and their bodies.
The Lexington Farmers’ Market and KCG partner to bring educational programs and activities to the LFM throughout the regular market season.
