Lexington Farmer's Market

Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions regarding performing at the Lexington Farmers’ Market

Entertainer Compensation

The LFM is run primarily by volunteers and does not compensate entertainers. We encourage all entertainers to put out tip jars and bring any CDs or other materials to sell as well as any information on music lessons, classes, etc. to put on display during performances.

Conduct

Music must play at an appropriate volume. Due to the close proximity to vendors there occasionally may be issues with volume that interferes with vendor-customer interactions. Volume must be immediately turned down if requested by any LFM staff. Roving musicians must first be approved by the market manager.

Cancellations/tardiness

All cancellations must be done at least 24 hours in advance. Please be courteous and give us some time in order to schedule other entertainment. If you need to cancel, please contact the Entertainment Coordinator. If there is a chance of a late arrival please call the Entertainment Coordinator to ensure your time slot is not filled.

Performance Set Up

Musicians typically play under a 10×10 tent with open sides. You are welcome to bring your own tent as well, but please inform the Entertainment Coordinator in advance. In cases where your group exceeds the size of our tent, we may be able to accommodate you with enough notice. We have had dance stages, sets of risers, additional tents, etc. so we are happy to try to work with you. There is no electricity on site, but we will provide a battery (car type) for power.

Scheduling

Entertainment is typically booked for 2 or 3 hour time slots, with exceptions made with prior approval. If you would prefer to play for a shorter or longer time frame, please specify this in the application. Recurring performances are welcomed and subject to availability.
